Difference between Red Ginseng and Black Ginseng
- Red Ginseng is created by steaming and drying fresh ginseng once.
- Black Ginseng undergoes a traditional 9-cycle steaming and drying process known as "Gujeung-gupo". This meticulous method concentrates the active ingredients and gives the ginseng its deep black colour.
Maximum potency of Rare Ginsenosides
- Through the repeated 9-cycle process, the chemical structure of the ginseng changes.
- Black Ginseng contains significantly higher levels of rare ginsenosides (such as Rg3, Rh2, and Rk1) compared to Red Ginseng.
